The Founder of The Oliver Carr Company (1962) and CarrAmerica (1993), Oliver has developed over 11 million square feet of office, retail, residential, and hotel properties in the Washington, D.C. region. In addition, Oliver has managed over 26.3 million square feet of commercial space, in 12 different markets across the United States.
An inductee of the Washington Business Hall of Fame, Oliver is also Chairman Emeritus of George Washington University’s Board of Trustees, former Chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a former Trustee of the Federal City Council. In addition to Carr Hospitality and Carr City Centers, Oliver is Founder and Chairman of Carr Workplaces, a national workplace solutions company, and Carr Community Foundation (previously known as Rising Stars), 501(c) (3) Private Foundation dedicated to the support of organizations which help at-risk children succeed within their education and in their community’s. In 2016, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Urban Land Institute.
