Since its inception in 1816, the hotel has been the meeting place of politicians and luminaries, offering everything from a quiet place for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to pen his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, to a pre-inauguration home for then President-elect Abraham Lincoln, to a lobby where President Ulysses S. Grant was courted by those seeking influence, coining the term “lobbyist.”

Located in the heart of charming historic Old Town Alexandria, the hotel is ideally suited for both a visit to the surrounding landmarks, boutique shops and waterfront as well as a direct shot to downtown Washington, DC. The hotel was built by the Carr Companies in 1989.

This select service hotel consists of 109 rooms and suites, a restaurant, fitness center, meeting room, and LEED Silver certification. In addition, 30 valet-parked car spaces will be provided on site. Located one block south of King Street Metro Station and within walking distance to the King Street entertainment district, the project is also near the Patent Trademark Office and Carlyle project which has approximately over 6 million square feet of offices, retail and residential. The site is located at 1620 Prince Street. The Holiday Inn and Suites in Old Town, Alexandria offers 161 guestrooms, a full service restaurant and great public spaces. It is near the Reagan National Airport and King Street, where one may find the Torpedo Art Factory, historic Gadsby’s Tavern, and a vast array of shops and restaurants.

As part of the City’s Master Waterfront Plan, Carr is developing a boutique hotel consisting of 120 hotel rooms, a meeting room, fine dining restaurant and lounge, fitness center, below grade parking, and LEED Silver certification.  Located across from the future Alexandria Waterfront Park, the project is one block south of the numerous restaurants, spas, Torpedo Factory art community and retail stores found on and around historic King Street.

Carr is developing a 278-room luxury hotel with 18,000 square feet of meeting space, 5,000 square foot spa, and a 5,000 square foot rooftop restaurant/lounge, all with views of the water.  The hotel will be constructed during Phase 1 of The Wharf, a world-class, mixed-use waterfront development located on the historic Washington Channel.  The hotel will be branded as an InterContinental, part of a Carr portfolio that includes the Willard Intercontinental Hotel.

The hotel will be LEED Silver, contributing to the LEED-ND Gold status of the Master Development which will feature approximately three million square feet of new residential, office, hotel, retail, cultural, and public uses including waterfront parks, promenades, piers, and docks.

Carr is developing a boutique hotel with 150 guestrooms and suites in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia. Located at the nexus of University Grounds and the Medical Center, the project will include a 4,000 square foot destination restaurant, 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center and a business center, all accommodated by on-site parking for guests and restaurant patrons alike. Located at 1106 West Main Street, the hotel is adjacent to The Corner and within walking distance to the Charlottesville Amtrak station and the Downtown Mall.

Located in Washington’s East End submarket, 775 12th Street is a 450,000 SF, 459 key hotel property located at Metro Center.  The building includes 200 covered parking spaces and is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants in DC’s Metro Center neighborhood, five Metro Stations and is conveniently located to Union Station and Ronald Reagan National Airport.
